Let us know what you think of the cover for Other Breakable Things by Kelley York & Rowan Altwood which releases April 4, 2017!

This cover reveal is brought to you by Entangled TEEN & YA Books Central!

Kelley and Rowan’s thoughts on the cover:

We're pretty lucky in that Kelley got to design the cover for Other Breakable Things. We went through so many vastly different designs over the last few months, it'd make your head spin. It's almost funny that the one everyone ended up liking the best was the simplest. The quietest. It was also the first one Rowan saw where she said, "Yes, that's it. That one." And, hey, she was right.

  obt

About Other Breakable Things:
According to Japanese legend, folding a thousand paper cranes will grant you healing. Evelyn Abel will fold two thousand if it will bring Luc back to her. Luc Argent has always been intimately acquainted with death. After a car crash got him a second chance at life—via someone else’s transplanted heart—he tried to embrace it. He truly did. But he always knew death could be right around the corner again. And now it is. Sick of hospitals and tired of transplants, Luc is ready to let his failing heart give out, ready to give up. A road trip to Oregon—where death with dignity is legal—is his answer. But along for the ride is his best friend, Evelyn. And she’s not giving up so easily. A thousand miles, a handful of roadside attractions, and one life-altering kiss later, Evelyn’s fallen, and Luc’s heart is full. But is it enough to save him? Evelyn’s betting her heart, her life, that it can be. Right down to the thousandth paper crane.

This cover reveal is brought to you by Entangled TEEN & YA Interrobang!

Brenda Drake's thoughts on the cover: I had an idea of what I wanted the cover of Guardian of Secrets to look like the entire time I was writing the story. I was delighted (I might have screamed) when the cover showed up in my email and it was EXACTLY what I’d imagined. I love that it’s blue since part of the setting of the book takes place in a cold climate. I’m thrilled the couple is on it, too. They resemble the characters I’ve created in my mind perfectly. The cover is so beautiful, and I’m beyond excited to share it with everyone!

About Guardian of Secrets (Library Jumpers, #2):
Being a Sentinel isn’t all fairytales and secret gardens. Sure, jumping through books into the world’s most beautiful libraries to protect humans from mystical creatures is awesome. No one knows that better than Gia Kearns, but she could do without the part where people are always trying to kill her. Oh, and the fact that Pop and her had to move away from her friends and life as she knew it. And if that isn’t enough, her boyfriend, Arik, is acting strangely. Like, maybe she should be calling him “ex,” since he’s so into another girl. But she doesn’t have time to be mad or even jealous, because someone has to save the world from the upcoming apocalypse, and it looks like that’s going to be Gia. Maybe. If she survives.

Review - Infinity by: Jus Accardo

There are three things Kori knows for sure about her life:

One: Her army general dad is insanely overprotective.

Two: The guy he sent to watch her, Cade, is way too good-looking.
Three: Everything she knew was a lie.

Now there are three things Kori never knew about her life:

One: There’s a device that allows her to jump dimensions.

Two: Cade’s got a lethal secret.

Three: Someone wants her dead.

__________________________________________________________________

There is something that just happens, something that just clicks when you read an amazing story. You start off not knowing what you're getting yourself into and then somewhere along the way you start falling for those characters and rooting for them. The most amazing part of all of this is when an author can make it so seamless that you cannot even pinpoint when it occurs. Jus Accardo has that ability. With Infinity, this story is such a mind-whirlwind that you cannot help but instantly be invested with and I loved every minute of it.

I have to admit, I adored the way this story started off. Our main character Kori, is an artist and that right there was an instant quality I loved about her. However, I wish we revisited this opening scene or location (without giving anything away) and I hope that if there are future books, it will come up again. With all that being said, Kori is such a strong protagonist. She is spunky, takes no crap, athletic, adventurous, and probably the most important selfless. You cannot help but stand behind her during every decision.

With our other characters, I honestly have to say I really liked Noah. He is so strong through and through. At first, you are not completely sure of his M.O. or what he is thinking but as the story continues you get to watch Noah change and develop, and I adored that. Cade was a little bit of a different story for me. I definitely rooted for him and Kori, however I didn't fall in love with him as much as I wanted to. Maybe it was the instant click with him and Kori (for obvious reasons), I'm not completely sure. Then again, with some people when you know... you just know, right?

The concepts in Infinity instantly made me love this book. I am such a sci-fi, suspense, romance guru and it definitely gets my book-loving going when a story combines all three. Infinity is definitely another stunner from Jus Accardo and I cannot wait to see where this story goes to, literally.

"If I get through this, I promise to do something about it. I swear I'll live my life like my art. Take chances. Live in vivid color."

Review - Willing Target by: Kathleen Mix

The last thing covert operative Mitch Weaver wants is to be partnered with a gorgeous, reckless newbie. Still reeling from the death of his former partner, Mitch doesn't need the responsibility of keeping anyone else alive, especially when they volunteer to be a killer's target. Not to mention, his attraction to the too-perky blonde is the kind of distraction that could get them both killed in their line of work.

Andrea Carnegie's first assignment isn't going quite as she planned. Her partner might be sexy but he's completely frustrating with his determination to keep her out of danger. Masquerading as a billionaire's sister to bait a possible killer is her chance to shine. But if she wants to catch the person threatening their client, she’ll have to find a way to work together with Mitch while still keeping her distance. Even as the air between them sizzles, Andrea knows the worst possible thing she could do is fall for her partner.

__________________________________________

What a high-stakes fairytale of a ride. Willing Target constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat and rooting for Mitch and Andrea every step of the way. Once I finally had the time, I whipped through this book.

Andrea Carnegie is easy to like right from the beginning. She is a hard-worker who truly just wants to excel in her line of work. She's not petty and understands that you need to work for what you want. On the other side, Mitch Weaver also is extremely likable however for different reasons. Mitch has a tough exterior yet is super soft on the inside. His line of work has somewhat bruised him, yet he still gives it all he's got. I loved watching the scenes with Mitch and Andrea together and really appreciated that the author gave us dual viewpoints.

I'll admit I was definitely guessing who our "bad guy" was up until the end. I had to follow along with our characters and piece together the clues to figure out what they ultimately do. Overall, Willing Target was fun, suspenseful, steamy, and a super cute read that I adored. If you're thinking of giving this book a shot, you should!

Demons are real.
And now I’m one of them.

Talk about being wrong.

Now I’ve drawn the attention of the most dangerous forces in the demon world. I’m being stalked by a guy who can be in multiple places at once. I’m overwhelmed by a hunger I can’t shake—an impossible hunger that compels me to feed off the sexual energy of others, even if it might make me kill somebody. I’m losing control and entering a secret world that exists in the shadows of my own—a world filled with vampires, werewolves, and demons who look just like anyone else.

The night was supposed to be simple. Normal. After all, I thought I was human and my life thus far has been unbelievably ordinary.

Now it’s anything but.

Excerpt

Dark eyes meet mine.

Everything slows, like the world melts into molasses and in it, I’m stuck. A guy stands in front of me, his body only inches away, and suddenly, he’s the only one in the room. The dancers fade into shadows and mist. The music is the low thrum that underscores the world. And there’s just him. Black skin, dark as I’ve ever seen. Sculpted arms hinting at a strong body, as if everything of him is muscle and sinew. He’s about my age, at least six-foot-two, and easily the most gorgeous man I’ve ever laid eyes on. And he smiles like he knows me. Like he’s saying hello.

His hand reaches out. Brushes a shadow, a girl, and shimmering mist ghosts away from her to caress his arm like a lover. His smile broadens.

The mist absorbs into his skin.

He nods to me, still friendly. Still like we’re acquaintances who’ve simply run into one another on the street. And then he’s gone into the shadows and the crowd comes rushing back again.

Review - The Problem With Forever by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

For some people, silence is a weapon. For Mallory "Mouse" Dodge, it's a shield. Growing up, she learned that the best way to survive was to say nothing. And even though it's been four years since her nightmare ended, she's beginning to worry that the fear that holds her back will last a lifetime.

Now, after years of homeschooling with loving adoptive parents, Mallory must face a new milestone—spending her senior year at public high school. But of all the terrifying and exhilarating scenarios she's imagined, there's one she never dreamed of—that she'd run into Rider Stark, the friend and protector she hasn't seen since childhood, on her very first day.

It doesn't take long for Mallory to realize that the connection she shared with Rider never really faded. Yet the deeper their bond grows, the more it becomes apparent that she's not the only one grappling with lingering scars from the past. And as she watches Rider's life spiral out of control, Mallory must make a choice between staying silent and speaking out—for the people she loves, the life she wants and the truths that need to be heard.

______________________________________________

The Problem With Forever is the type of book that makes me want to cry at the end. I'm not sure if it's from happiness, from feeling all the emotions the characters are experiencing, from the heartache of the events, or all of the above. All I know is that this book was one heck of a story and I loved every world-shattering part of it.

We start off with our protagonist, Mallory, who essentially is a shell of a person. She's completely intact however, after a traumatic childhood, she keeps everything inside and is extremely introvert. She finally decides, after having a break through couple years to go to a brick and mortar high school. It's there that she is bombarded with social situations she didn't imagine but also comes face to face with her past.

I must admit, I truly enjoyed being inside of Mallory's head as odd as that sounds. There was one point semi-early in the book where a quote she says just hit me and has haunted me since I read the words.

"My name is Mallory... Dodge." I drew in a deep breath, speaking to no one. "And I like... I like reading. And I don't like... I don't like who I am."

I feel like these words just shook me to the bone. Without a doubt, everyone has felt this at some point in their life. For me, I adore reading and there has been so many times that I have questioned myself or didn't like what I have seen in the mirror. These words truly made you feel what she was feeling not just in that moment, but essentially her whole life. Following her was unlike any other character I have read and I adore every moment of watching her grow and change.

With our other characters, you cannot help but love them all in some way. Each friend and adult somehow finds their way into their heart. I'd go into specifics but, Rosa, Jayden, Hector, Kiera, Ainsley, and even Paige all affect you in some form or another. Then, there's Rider. Oh Rider. The sexy, smart knight in shining armor who deserves the world and doesn't see it. You cannot help but root for this boy every step of the way.

Overall, I adored every piece of this story. There were so many parts that shattered me, some that made me melt, and some that made me smile with happiness. The Problem With Forever is definitely a story worth reading and I would recommend it to everyone.

Review - Nemesis by: Anna Banks

Princess Sepora of Serubel is the last Forger in all the five kingdoms. The spectorium she creates provides energy for all, but now her father has found a way to weaponize it, and his intentions to incite war force her to flee from his grasp. She escapes across enemy lines into the kingdom of Theoria, but her plans to hide are thwarted when she is captured and placed in the young king's servitude.

Tarik has just taken over rulership of Theoria, and must now face a new plague sweeping through his kingdom and killing his citizens. The last thing he needs is a troublesome servant vying for his attention. But mistress Sepora will not be ignored. When the two finally meet face-to-face, they form an unlikely bond that complicates life in ways neither of them could have imagined.

Sepora's gift could save Tarik's kingdom from the Quiet Plague. But should she trust her growing feelings for her nemesis, or should she hide her gifts at all costs?

___________________________________________

Special thanks to the lovely Brooke Reports for this book!

Tension flows through this book like angsty teenagers. Nemesis reminded me of an older magical kingdom just developing into its prime with romance slightly weaved through. I will admit the story start a little slow, but built into a pressure-filled slew of events that I couldn't help but keep turning the pages.

We start off with Sepora, who flees from her kingdom after her father makes it clear he wants to use her powers as a weapon. Along the way she gets thrown into a new kingdom and a new life she isn't sure she wants. I have to admit, Sepora was consistently a little firecracker. She goes after what she wants and what she believes is right and that's admirable. In Nemesis, we get dual POVs which I love and the other side of our story is from Tarik. Tarik, a young prince, who is also thrown into a new life takes a more gentle approach to life. I have to admit I loved watching these two grow together.

My one down note would be that it took about getting into the book about a third of the way before it picked up. I almost didn't keep going, but I'm glad I did because once it picked up I couldn't put it down. On the other side... I adored the Serpens and the large cats and the abilities we get to see along the way. Definitely will be looking forward to the next book in the series!

Review - Invidious by: Bianca Scardoni

The steep descent into Hell is always paved with good intentions.

My name is Jemma Blackburn, and I'm a Slayer. Finding out I wasn't human was only the beginning of my problems. My best-friend, Taylor, is still missing, and so is the Immortal Amulet, and it's my job alone to get them both back. I don't know who I can trust, and I'm still not sure I'm cut out for any of this, but I'm determined to figure it all out, or die trying.

As if that wasn't bad enough, there's a new enemy in town and they've come bearing gifts—an ancient prophesy that is going to blur the very lines between good and evil. And, apparently, my blood is tied to the center of it. I don't have all the answers yet, but I’m getting closer and closer to discovering the truth. The truth about my bloodlines, and about who I really am.

And, believe me when I say, it's going to change everything.

_______________________________________________

Oh, Invidious! Why do you have to end on a cliff hanger like that? I want to say I knew it.. and I yep, I knew it. Overall, Invidious was a fantastic second installment in this series. This story was a page-turner and moved just as fast as the first book and I loved it.

All of our main characters we've grown to love are back and stronger than ever. I will admit I feel like there was a lot of setting up going on in this one and nothing "huge" happening with any of the characters, minus Dominic. I really liked Dominic's role in this book, and I stand by what I said about the first book... I'm still a Dominic fan to the end.

Towards the end, I will say I felt it was a little rushed. The major ending events almost confused me as some points until I realized what was happening. However, overall, Invidious was a fantastic book of discovery, deception and darkness. Yes, all the D's. I'm super excited to see what comes next in this series!

Review - Disruption by: Jessica Shirvington

The heart-stopping first chapter in bestselling author Jessica Shirvington's Disruption series.

What if a microchip could identify your perfect match? What if it could be used against you and the ones you love?

Eight years ago, Mercer Corporation's M-Bands became mandatory. An evolution of the smartphone, the bracelets promised an easier life. Instead, they have come to control it. Two years ago, Maggie Stevens watched helplessly as one of the people she loved most was taken from her, shattering her world as she knew it. Now, Maggie is ready. And Quentin Mercer - heir to the M-Corp empire - has become key to Maggie's plan. But as the pieces of her dangerous design fall into place, could Quentin's involvement destroy everything she's fought for? In a world full of broken promises, the ones Maggie must keep could be the most heartbreaking.

Absolutely, positively loved everything about this book. Firstly, Disruption, is based around a world that evolved via technology, secondly our two main characters are determined and exciting to follow, and finally this book was so well written that I could not put it down for one second.

I love how the world of this book is semi-dystopia and yet somehow not. Your life is still controlled and tracked by an "m-band" yet at the same time you still have choices like where you live,  where you go to college, and who you ultimately end up with. It's how I could actually see the world changing into. It is crazy to think that there could be a technology developed that would sense pheromones and tell you how well you match with another person.

It is rare when I read a book where I adore every character that we meet along the way, and whether I wanted to hug them or punch them, I loved every one in this story. Each person had such a vital role, whether it was comic relief, friendship, evilness, or pure determined awesomeness. I absolutely love Maggie and Quentin. Each of our main characters grow from the beginning to end in a couple different ways. Especially Maggie, who is so determined from start to end and she isn't just mentally strong but also physically which I love seeing. I also have to give a shout out to Gus, who throughout the book was constantly making me laugh.

Overall I absolutely and throughly enjoyed this book. If I knew someone in Australia, I'd have them send me the sequel Corruption tomorrow. This book was full of action and I loved every second of it.

Review - No Falling Allowed by: Melissa West

My life just went South…

Twenty-four hours. That’s how long it took my life to flip upside down.

Wake up in bed alone after the best night of my life? Check.

Get fired instead of the promised promotion? Check.

Wealthy parents cut me off when I refuse to follow their path for my life? Check.

Now I’m in Cricket Creek, SC—a place where no New Yorker belongs—disowned and broke, with a new job that I can’t mess up. Oh yeah, and staring at my one-night stand, who happens to be the complete opposite of my type.

Southern.

Cocky.

Bartender.

Noah Hunter never should have made it back to my apartment in NYC, and I definitely shouldn’t be in his small town. But fate had another plan. Or a horrible sense of humor.

Who knew Mr. Wrong could feel so right…

No Falling Allowed is fairytale story that effortlessly collides two completely differently lives and I just adored it. The story follows Noah and Grace, who happen to meet by chance in NYC and from there the story just takes off.

I absolutely loved both of our main characters. Grace, who comes from money and is crazy confident has to learn how to grow into her own person. Then on the other side there's Noah who knows exactly who he is and has the biggest heart you'll ever see on a man. Watching these two lives intertwine just made not falling for them (pun intended) impossible.

Overall, No Falling Allowed is a fast-paced, enchanting story that you can't help but loving while you read. I have loved Melissa West's books in the past and this one is no exception. If you are thinking of giving this one a shot, definitely do!

Music Monday #65 ♫

Happy Monday!! Currently in Long Beach Island, just enjoying one of the things I love most... the beach! However, you all know I adore music too. Here's what I've had on repeat lately!

Hope you enjoy!

1) Boyce Avenue - On My Mind (Cover)

This is one of the BEST covers I have heard in a long time. Absolutely adore it.

2) ASTR - Razor

You know I love my girl singers, edm, emo jams... HA.

"In my heart, in my heart, you're taking me under"

3) The Cataracs - All You

This song is fun, upbeat, and I love dancing around the house to it.

So what do ya think? Comments? Suggestions? Love notes?!
