- My Review -

Thoughts: I absolutely love this series. Both of the books have been absolutely brilliant. There's so much depth to them. So many weaved layers and secrets and yet everything fits together so perfectly in the grand scheme. Entice was everything I could have asked for in this dark and twisted angel story. Thrills, betrayals, laughs, desires, agony, love, fierce battles... it has it all.

Entice kicks off where Embrace left us, Violet is Grigori and not just any Grigori, a powerful one. One who isn't sure of what type of angel parented her. Violet thought Phoenix leaving would help her world tip back on balance. But, nothing is ever in balance for Violet. Everyone seems to be hiding things, including Linc. Oh and not to mention new Grigori are coming to help plus the Exiles they start to come across all tend to be linked somehow. Violet isn't one to go down without a fight thought. She'll fight for the one she loves and her people... no matter the cost for her.

I just love all these characters so much. With our protagonist Violet, I just get her. Her twistedness, her emotions, her hurt, her love, her confusion, her amazing abilities. She's so easy to fall in love with as the voice of the story.  Then there's her best friend Steph and her leader Griffin, who are two characters that do no wrong in my book. Also with the old characters Magda returns as well... and basically I want to set her on fire and then stomp on the ashes. Just saying. But other than that, with the old characters we love there are new ones too. Spence especially stole the show for me. I loved his slight cockiness, his charisma, his uncanny ability to laugh and ease tension. I'm hoping to see a lot more of him in the future.

Then there's Lincoln. Oh Lincoln. I am basically in love with you. He is sexy, and dresses good, so protective and athletic. Linc is just the perfect guy and his heart always tries to be in the right place. I want Violet and him to have their happy ending so badly. These two can never seem to catch a break, and they so deserve happiness.

The ending was all kinds of an emotional roller coaster. It's one of those endings where you hope and hope but then are like "nah it won't work out that way"... Then it does and it's like hallelujah finally! Yet the ending is more than just a villain. There's war, conflicts, heartbreak, betrayal, and unbelievable truths revealed. I love this series so hard and cannot WAIT to read the next book.

Blog Tour: Inbetween

Hosted by: Itching For Books

___________

- The Book -

Release: August 2012
Imprint: Entangled Teen
Novel Length: 400 Pages
Format: Trade Paperback and eBook
Synopsis: Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky—and unending—lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.

It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before, and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he has left...his soul.

- The Author -

Tara Fuller writes novels. Some about grim reapers. Some about witches. All of course are delightfully full of teen angst and kissing. Tara grew up in a one stop light town in Oklahoma where once upon a time she stayed up with a flash light reading RL Stine novels and only dreamed of becoming a writer. She has a slight obsession with music and a shameless addiction for zombie fiction, Mystery Science Theater, and black and white mochas. Tara no longer lives in a one stop light town. Now she lives with her family in a slightly larger town in North Carolina where they have at least three stoplights.

 - My Review -

A captivating whirlwind of death, revenge, and true love. I want a reaper of my own! Seriously, I do. And ladies (and gents)... Easton is mine! So when you all end up falling for him just remember he belongs to me ;)!

Tara seriously kills me with her writing. Everything is so beautifully described and her metaphors and descriptions are like sweet icing on top of a brilliant story line. It's so easy to fall in love with her story from the beginning. I also love how she gave us duel view points from both Finn and Emma. Getting inside both of the main character's heads... it always makes me fall in love with them more.

He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he has left…his soul.

Thoughts: A captivating whirlwind of death, revenge, and true love. I want a reaper of my own! Seriously, I do. And ladies (and gents)... Easton is mine! So when you all end up falling for him just remember he belongs to me ;)!

Ever since the car accident that killed her father and almost her, Emma has withdrawn into herself. People think she's crazy and she tends to stick by herself. But, when you're constantly avoiding near death experiences... all your life is, is crazy. Then tragedy tries to take her again but instead she's saved by a boy. A boy who just happens to be a reaper. Finn has been in love with Emma since he's met her and he refuses to let her die. He'll do anything to save her, even if it goes against everything he's known.

Speaking of characters... full set of perfect boys alert! I do not kid. Tara has three major boys in this story and each of them have their own hidden background story. Their own reason that they shine and I'm seriously in love with them all. Finn is that perfect sexy boy who wants to protect and save the girl he's in love with. Cash, the sexy stud playboy artist. Cash is Emma's best friend and regardless of his reputation with the ladies, Cash is the perfect best friend and I found myself laughing with him or basically wanting to jump him, ha! Then finally there's my boy Easton. Easton doesn't shine has much as the other two in this story, but there's something I find so intriguing about him. Something that makes me want to get inside his brain and pick him apart. He's always there for Finn, and I totally support bromances!

With beautiful writing and a captivating romance, Inbetween will literally reap you from beginning to end. I absolutely loved Emma and Finn's story. There are so many amazing characters and so many brilliant moments. Now, I just have to try and patiently wait for Cash and Easton's stories so I can fall in love with them even more!

________

- The Author -

Brenda Pandos lives in California with her husband and two boys. She attempts to balance her busy life filled with writing, being a mother and wife, and spending time with friends and family. Working formerly as an I.T. Administrator, she never believed her imagination would be put to good use. After her son was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder her life completely changed. Writing paranormal romance became something she could do at home while tending to the new needs of her family, household, and herself.

Three years later, Brenda now has five books published, The Talisman Trilogy: The Emerald Talisman, The Sapphire Talisman, and The Onyx Talisman, and Mer Tales: Everblue and Evergreen. She is currently working on the third book of Mer Tales, Everlost, coming February 2013.
________

- Interview with Brenda! :) -

1) Do you like writing Fin or Ash's POV better? Do you connect with one of them more than the other?

I try to balance each couple in my stories by giving them opposite personalities. The more I wrote, the more Fin became the fun, dominate, head-strong force of Everblue, and Ash became lost, alone, frustrated, and unsure, which made her more difficult to work with. In Evergreen, they both came into their own and dealt with their own problems differently. I think I appreciated Ash more in some ways than Fin as he faltered and didn’t use his typical dominate side to help himself. I guess I resonate with the one who chooses their destiny and doesn’t let anything or anyone stand in their way. But we all need to grow, so…

2) Have you always wanted to be a writer?

No. I didn’t realize I enjoyed writing until about five years ago when I started The Emerald Talisman and needed an escape during a hard time in my life. It’s been fun and a lot of hard work, but my Cinderella story in how I became a permanent stay-at-home mom.

SS: Ah wouldn't that be nice... not that I'm a mom yet... but staying at home writing *le sigh*

3) Mermaids huh? Why the deep blue sea? (I AM SO A MERMAID GIRL. I LOVE THEM).

The deep blue sea freaks me out, actually! But, alas… I’m in love with mermaids. Splash was what did me in as a young girl. I was a swimmer and water-lover in general and even sewed my own mermaid tail out of an old night gown. But honestly, I’m terrified of sharks and water creatures and I don’t swim alone, even in a pool.

SS: REALLY?! Oh gosh I love the ocean. And I adore swimming alone.

4) If you had to pick an actor for Fin and an actress for Ash who would you pick?

Ugh… that’s hard. (stops… opens Google) Okay. I don’t know necessarily based on acting, but Austin Butler is adorable with his blond hair and blue eyes. Couldn’t you see him in a black baseball cap in a Red Tahoe? And I think Bonnie Wright or Bryce Howard would be great for Ash.

SS: OH MY GODS. AUSTIN. SO PERFECT. And I LOVE Bonnie!!!

5) Everyone has a guilty pleasure, what's yours (Coffee, tea, Oohh I don't know The Legend of Korra...)? (Googles Legend of Korra)

I feel so out of touch. Ahhhh… Avatar. No, I haven’t delved into that, but my most recent TV watching obsession was The Forsyth Saga while I worked on a cross stitch project (an after book release reward). So good. For food, most def chocolate. Okay, and chai soy latte’s from Starbux. Also Word with Friends, though that’s becoming a bit hard to play ‘cause I hate to lose and I take a long time to make my move because of it. Yeah… there’s always a game that’s soaking up my dead brain time since I haven’t much time for TV, reading, or anything else with my 4 and 6 year old boys.

6) Have any sekrit projects you're working on or upcoming books we don't know about?

Beyond Everlost? *coughs and looks up* I just listened to the final version of The Emerald Talisman as an audio book (squee) and… it got my wheels spinning. It wasn’t that I wanted to quit writing about them, I just didn’t have anything compelling me to continue with their story… until now. I might have something new with Julia, Nicholas, Phil and the gang coming out late next year. You’re the first publically to know. And there’s something else bothering me … something new … something dystopian (like Mer Tales doesn’t cross into that realm a little…haha). The tag line is “What if you knew the date you’d die?”

SS: Mmmm love that tagline! Can't wait :)

7) Theme song for the Mer Tales series?

I love trance music and if I can get a feeling in a song, it really helps when writing (kind of like music does in a movie). Another Day on the Terrace (chill mix) by Sunlounger embodies the emotion of Evergreen. I heard it, got chills, and bought it on the spot (and listened to it a million times). It’s awesome!

8) Do you have a favorite read of this year so far?

Alas, I don’t have much to time devote to reading, but Power by Kristie Cook is coming out in a few days and I was a beta reader. It’s going to be an awesome and powerful addition to her Soul Savers Series!

SS: Haven't read that series yet! Wanted to check it out though!

9) Where'd you come up with the idea of tattoos as rings (I LOVE IT!)?

Oh… I don’t know. I love sparklie things, so … I think at the time I needed something permanent that showed evidence of the promise and the tattoo fit. And it’s rather adorbs on the cover, if I say so myself.

SS: IT IS. IT IS.

10) Anything else you'd like to let us readers know?

In every story, there’s a quirky odd ball that we all come to adore (Badger, Enigma, Harry, for example) Ferdinand, if you didn’t know, is an autistic merman in the story, though I don’t come out and label him that. Autism is the reason I’m a writer today. My son was diagnosed four years ago and it’s forever changed our lives. Through early detection, a casein/gluten free organic diet, and intense therapy, he’s in first grade with his typical peers (with very little direct support) and I couldn’t be prouder. But many never talk. They live in their own world, hampered by routine, and bombarded by life itself. I wanted to show a piece of that with Ferdinand, honoring the story Ferdinand the Bull. He’s the character I most connected with, actually. If you think maybe your child might not be developing on time, don’t wait. You can screen your child for free at http://www.autismspeaks.org . Check out ageofautism.com for truth in the epidemic.

But on the brighter side, to my fans: thanks for reading, reviewing, and following me. I appreciate all the emails, letters, presents, tweets, and facebook messages. This wasn’t something I anticipated when I started my journey as a writer and I’m more than thrilled I’ve found my niche and a great group of readers to share my stories with! Totally warms my heart and I consider you all friends, chatting with me at home in my virtual coffee shop! <3 font="font">

Thanks so much for the fun interview and the promotion of my work, Jena! I enjoy our friendship because of books! Hugs!

SS: Thank you Brenda for stopping by and answering all my questions! :) I waaaant to be a mermaid!
