The whole series side by side!

You can definitely feel a change from the first to the second! And SourceBooks Fire can explain that! Sourcebooks Fire editor, Leah Hultenschmidt provided this quote about the Entice cover: “For Entice, we really wanted to have the cover reflect the darker edge of the story and Violet’s toughness.”

So what do you think?! I personally love the new cover and it's darkness! Especially the quote on it... "I knew you'd never believe me..."

Don't miss out on this series! You will love it!

Now that you've scene the loveliness that is the cover here's a glimpse of what's to come!:

“Two tutors and three students from the Grigori training center in New York were arriving in two days and I couldn’t be happier.  I was going to be able to learn from the experts and have people my own age to train with, something I really needed.  I was sure with their help I would be able to get over whatever it was that had been holding me back.

Griffin had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the two senior Grigori –the intelligence, resources and backup they could provide was much needed.  The Scripture that can decipher the identity of all Grigori, even those who have not yet embraced and are therefore defenseless, was at stake.

I would not stand by and watch it fall into the hands of exiles.  If they found they key to destroying all Grigori and gained the upper hand, the slaughter would not stop until all the humans knelt before them, worshipping them as gods.”

And that's not all!! Want to actually READ some of Entice?!

You can read the first two chapters of Entice here!

We're not done yet! Jessica has something she'd like to say too!

ReVamped by: Ada Adams

Synopsis: A simple mission turned deadly.

Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.

When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.

Thoughts: Beyond stunning cover, a perfect group of misfits, and a truly unique story. ReVamped is one of those reads where you simple cannot put it down because you need to know what will happen next.

We start off with Dawn, who has lived at The Scarlet House her whole life, aka the U.S. Vampire Headquarters. Oh and also her father? Yeah, he's the president. And Dawn is a special vampire. She's been born and not turned. Even though Dawn has been sheltered, she's a strong fighter and after nineteen years, she's finally getting her first mission. She's being sent to Angel Creek, to not only train new vamps but to become the towns guardians. But when she gets there Dawn finds nothing what she expected. Instead, she finds a group of complete misfits, a sexy and mysterious vampire she didn't know would be there, and that Angel Creek may not be the safest place for her after all.

The first thing I must mention is that I absolutely adore the age groups that this book is centered around. Our three main characters range from nineteen to twenty-two (well if you don't count vampire years, ha!). And, I believe that this age group, my age group, is such an un-tapped group with so many possibilities that you cannot always explore in the mid-teens. So, I love that I was able to relate to these characters on that level. Another concept I loved was that Ada created two types of vampires. The Born and Turned. And the fact that the world knows about vampires! It's not some hidden secret! Which I absolutely loved!

Then, there's the characters. Dawn is actually pretty bad-ass and I'd love to be able to fight like her. Not only am I envious of that, but she also has "pale violet" eyes. It's unique and beautiful. Dawn also has this defiance in her because she does what she believes is right and to me that's always a quality worth admiring. And, while being admirable she's able to bring together a group of people who are utterly different from each other and she never gives up. With the group, I found myself loving them all for different reasons. Whether I related to them, laughed at their remarks, or rooted for them. And uh, Hunter... yeah I totally have a thing for him and his green eyes, color hair, and guitar playing skills.

Oh the boys! Literally.. Ethan and Sebastian. Ethan with his honey eyes, dark golden hair, and his sweet sexy southern demeanor. Then on the other side is the brooding, sexy, dark hair and gray eyes Sebastian. It's impossible not to fall for both of them. There's good and bad qualities about each boy. For myself, at the end of book one though, I fell harder for Sebastian. There's something about the boys with a dark past who need a little cracking open that I cannot help but fall for. But, I promise you both boys will have you swooning!

Overall, I truly enjoyed the opening book to the Angel Creek series. ReVamped has it's own uniqueness to it. It's a book with thrills, somber moments, laughs, sexy times and overall a book that will keep you latched on from beginning to end. Cannot wait for book two!!

I love this series SO hard. You should all definitely give it a shot!

Synopsis: If you live in the dark long enough, you begin to forget the light…

KORI DANIELS is a shadow-walker, able to travel instantly from one shadow to another. After weeks of confinement for betraying her boss, she’s ready to break free of the Tower syndicate for good. Amid the tangle of lies, an unexpected thread of truth connecting Ian and Kori comes to light. But with opposing goals, they’ll have to choose between love and liberty….

Thoughts: Bad ass and rebellious, but still in same dark world we know and love. When I read Blood Bound, it had instantly become one of my top three favorite books. Everything about this series is sinister, binding, violent, and yet thrilling and enticing as hell. And, Shadow Bound in no way let me down.

We start off where Blood Bound essentially left off, except now we're in Kori's brain. She disobeyed her boss and for that she was punished and tortured. But, lucky for her, she's given a chance to redeem herself with a new job. And redeeming herself and protecting her sister is all the matters to her. Jake tells her she must do whatever it takes, and I mean whatever, to recruit Ian Holt. Otherwise she and Ian will be killed... leaving her sister alone. Ian has the ability to manipulate the dark which is extremely rare. But, Ian has a job of his own and that's to kill Kori's sister Kenley. As the two grow close, they'll have to determine what's more important each other, the syndicate, or their families.

The concepts of this world never cease to blow me away. Despite how menacing the Unbound world is, I constantly find myself falling in love with it and its characters. Through every bloody turn and every uneasy encounter, I always find myself needing to know what happens next.  Rachel also has such a way of intertwining her words into perfect sentences. I felt like every other page there was a line or paragraph I was quoting. Lines that hit me so deep. It's just yet another thing that makes me love every part of Shadow Bound.

With Blood Bound, I fell in love with Liv and especially Cam. Cameron Cabellero has a special spot in my heart, no doubt! And I was extremely happy to see them again and their roles in Shadow Bound. Although, I found myself loving our new narrators: Kori and Ian as well.

Kori is one of the strongest female roles you will ever read about. And I don't just mean in the I can kick-ass, wield weapons, and castrate you way... which she can. Kori is also emotionally strong. Her family is what matters most to her, and no matter how tortured she's been she still always has that goal in mind. If I was in Kori's position, I'm not sure I would come out on top and she certainly shows the strength to do it. On the other side is Ian. Ian is also a bad-ass hottie but, he's not the snarky bad boy role... he's quite the opposite. He's kept himself low on the radar, he cares completely about those he loves, he's extremely protective, and most importantly he's an extremely good guy. I found myself loving both of their stories and watching them collide together.

Overall, I intensely adore this series. With it being adult it gives me everything I could ask for. Bad-assery, Romance, Cursing, Drinking, Family, Sex, Fighting. And I love every single moment of this dark world. If you haven't read this series... well start! If you've read Blood Bound, well I'm sure you'll love Shadow Bound as well!

Dark Kiss by: Michelle Rowen

Synopsis: I don't do dangerous.  Smart, über-careful, ordinary Samantha-that's me. But I just couldn't pass up a surprise kiss from my number-one unattainable crush. A kiss that did something to me...something strange. Now I feel hungry all the time, but not for food. It's like part of me is missing-and I don't know if I can get it back. Then there's Bishop. At first I thought he was just a street kid, but the secrets he's keeping are as intense as his unearthly blue eyes. If he's what I think he is, he may be the only one who can help me. But something terrifying is closing in, and the one chance Bishop and I have to stop it means losing everything I ever wanted and embracing the darkness inside me....

NIGHTWATCHERS When angels and demons must work together, something beyond evil is rising...

Thoughts: A kiss is sexy, passionate, and always a good thing... right? Well that's not always the case in Michelle Rowen's Dark Kiss. Dark Kiss is gripping, addictive, and will warp what you think about kissing someone. It's an adventure through a dangerous city where demons, angels, and other mysterious beings lurk around every corner.

Dark Kiss start off with Samantha Day. She's normal, semi-unnoticed, but enjoying her life. Until one night at Crave, a club for all ages, she finally gets kissed by her biggest crush. But, it wasn't just an amazing super sexy kiss. Stephen changed her into something dark and she has no idea how or why. Then she meets Bishop. A dark hair, glowing blue-eyed, hottie who she soon discovers is an Angel and just may have the answers to her questions. But, he's on a mission of his own and it seems they need each other to help get through the chaos that's only just beginning.

I was hooked on this story from the first chapter. It was one of those books where I wanted to skip work just so I could sit on my couch and finish it. The concepts Michelle created about demons, angels, grays, and nexuses were all so unique and I love how she mixed them all together into one story. And the idea of a kiss being able to steal your soul... is sick! I love how you can take something so seductive and make it something almost evil. And, that cover is just brilliant!

Next, I found myself loving each and every character too. Even ones you wanted to hate, I found something redeeming or intriguing about them. Samantha is so torn throughout the book about multiple things and I love how she's able to deal with each of them and always doing what's right for her. Boy wise (and there's a lot of them), I adored Bishop and Kraven most. Complete opposites yet, very much alike. I love each of their determination and looks but, where Bishop is the good boy with a dark past, Kraven has this wittiness to him which makes you just adore them both. And I definitely want to find out more about both of them and their pasts. Also, with Bishop... I'm so rooting for a Sam and Bishop happy ending, but we shall see!

Dark Kiss had surprises and twists that I didn't see coming and I always enjoy being surprising right along with the characters. If you're looking for a read with enjoyable (sexy) characters, suspense, and a book that will keep you hooked... definitely check out Dark Kiss!

The Darkest Minds
by: Alexandra Bracken
Expected Release: December 18th, 2012 (My bro's bday!)

Synopsis: When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something frightening enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that gets her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government “rehabilitation camp.” She might have survived the mysterious disease that’s killed most of America’s children, but she and the others have been cursed with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control.

Now sixteen, Ruby has spent nearly half her life desperately trying to hide the fact that she’s outwitted the camp’s sorting system—that she isn’t powerless, or safe. She’s one of the dangerous ones… and everyone knows what happens to them.

When the truth comes out, Ruby barely escapes Thurmond with her life. Now she’s on the run, desperate to find the one safe haven left for kids like her—East River. She joins a group of teens who escaped their own camp, pursued along the way by terrifying bounty hunters. Liam, their brave leader, is falling hard for Ruby. But no matter how much she aches for him, Ruby can’t risk getting close to him. Not after what happened to her parents.

When they arrive at East River, nothing is as it seems, least of all its mysterious leader. But there are other forces at work, people who will stop at nothing to use Ruby in their fight against the government. Before the end, Ruby will be faced with a terrible choice, one that may mean giving up her only chance at a life worth living.

  •  A Midsummer's Nightmare - I've loved each of Kody's books I've read. The Duff being one of my absolute favorites. I cannot wait to read her next book because I know it's going to one I'll just adore!
  •  Prodigy - Legend was one of my favorite reads of 2011. And meeting Marie and seeing how sweet and awesome she is just made so much more excited about this series. Cannot WAIT to get my hands on this one.
  • The Darkest Minds - Many you probably haven't read the book Brightly Woven, am I right? Well you should. Because it is also by Alexandra and it's so magical and amazing. I still want a sequel to that btw! Anywho, the synopsis of this book sounds awesome! And I cannot wait to read it!

Sweet Evil by: Wendy Higgins

Synopsis: What if there were teens whose lives depended on being bad influences? This is life for sons and daughters of fallen angels in Sweet Evil.

Tenderhearted Southern girl, Anna Whitt, was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage, and her will-power is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

A cross-country trip to meet her father forces Anna to face the reality that hope and love are not options for her kind. When she confronts her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Thoughts: Sweet Evil is an alluring debut that is down right seductive. It's sinful, addictive, and just down right irresistible. This book will you have you wrapped around its enticing finger within the first few chapters. I cannot rave enough about how much this book reeled me in and tumbled my emotions. I. Want. More.

We start off with Anna Whitt. She's the pretty girl that keeps to herself. The one with one best friend who's always by her side. The girl who really does no wrong. A girl who can somehow see and feel your emotions around you. But, that all changes when she meets sexy drummer, Kaidan Rowe. She doesn't want to be sucked into his cocky charm and be one of his physical flings, yet she cannot seem to stay away from him. And Kaidan just so happens to knows who she is and why she can do the things that she can do. Anna soon finds herself sinking into the world of sins, and she may have to keep sinking. Her life may depend on it.

This book was unlike any angel and demon story I've read. And what I loved most is that it's more oriented towards the demon side. The concept and the way that Wendy presented each type of demon basically blew my mind. Imagine being a Nephillm meant you we're actually dangerous. That being a Nephilim didn't make you an angel, but a demon. A demon that will lure you to your sweetest sin. What I loved about how Wendy presented these "demons" was that they we're quite easy to relate to and you *almost* understand why they do what they do. It was quite an interesting and thrilling take on the seven sins plus more.

It's not just the way Wendy weaved her story that got to me though, it was the characters and how real each and every one of their stories felt. Anna, the protagonist, probably being one of my favorites. She's the type of character that starts in one place in the beginning of the story and she ends up a completely different person by the end. But, Anna doesn't spiral downward, she spirals upward into a stronger and smarter girl. And her interactions with her family, friends, and Kaidan just felt so real. I could feel each and every one of her emotions.

Which brings me to the seductively brilliant, Kaidan Rowe. Anna and Kaidan's relationship (if you can call it that) I thought was presented and developed beautifully. It's not insta-love or well, maybe it is, but they don't fall into each others arms. I loved their constant getting under each other's skin. I loved their arguments, because they were real problems that they needed to be  solved. Okay, so back to just Kaidan. I honestly, want to just sink into his beautiful hair, beautiful eyes, perfect grin, wonderful English accent, and just stay there. I must admit, there's one side of me that goes 'He's a man whore! Gross!'. But, then the other side of me sees why he is the way he is and how he must do those things to survive. It makes me understand him and his ways. I'm still waiting for him to crack open and show the heart that I know is in there. And I cannot wait to read more of him. Here's a passage about him that just killed me and completely broke me and I absolutely loved it:

"During those split seconds I watched him until his sight focused. Seeing me up there had broken something inside him."

The time frame for Sweet Evil also made everything feel so much more real for me. It made the relationships, the build up of something coming, and Anna's development all so much more real. Also, it's not just those two main characters I loved either. I loved them all: Jay, Patti, Roni, Marna, Kope, Anna's father, Blake (and that sexy eyebrow piercing), and I even liked Ginger. When you adore almost every character in a book, even the evil or snarky ones... you know it's a book worth falling in love with. And that's exactly what Sweet Evil did for me. I loved every single word and every single line. The whole story was just one thrill or one heart attack after another. And I can honestly say I loved every gosh darn sexy moment.

I adore this book and all the things that come with it. The cover. The story. The concepts. The characters. And, the author. So, welcome to my stop on the tour! :)

- The Book -
Synopsis: Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed—as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she's opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn't possible, she knows—with every fiber of her being—that Ben has somehow brought her back to life.

But her revival, and Ben's possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI agent father's files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something—but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what's right in front of her: Everything that's happened—the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben's sudden appearance in her life—points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she's going to need to uncover Ben's secrets—and keep from falling in love with him in the process.

- Q and A With the lovely Janelle and Ben -

Janelle / Ben: I'm a huge music girl! What kind of music do you both listen to? Any songs on your playlist you'd want to share with us?

J: I'm pretty eclectic. I listen to everything from Faith Hill to Eminem--and I really love bands with a kickass frontwoman like Paramore and Evanescence. But then I also listen to artists that are sort of embarrassing like Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. I like how upbeat some of their songs are. "Stay" by Miley Cyrus makes me think of Ben.

Shortie Says: I love Paramore and Evanescence toooo! I've totes have Demi on playlist too! Who doesn't?!

B: This is where we might differ. I'm not exactly a big pop fan. I tend to go for bands that are a little less mainstream that have lyrics that really mean something. My favorite band is Tool.

Shortie Says: But, ah, I have to go with Ben on this one. I love less mainstream bands as well. Emo/Alternative is my favorite.
Ben: What's your favorite thing about Janelle? Other than her saving you of course.

B: She's smart and independent. When there's an obstacle in her way, even if it's something like saving the world, she tackles it head on. At the same time, she takes care of everyone, her friends, family, and even strangers. I'm not the only person she's saved.

Janelle:  You seem to be all about saving people, in a kick-ass way of course, and we know you can wield a gun. Would you ever kill someone?

J: I hope not. Or at least, I hope I'll never be in a position where I feel like I have to. I believe in our justice system. But at the same time I wouldn't stand by if someone was hurting the people I care about. I would want to do whatever it took to keep them safe.

Shortie Says: Yeah.... not sure if I could ever kill anyone.
Janelle: Having an FBI dad and friend... any cool FBI secret/tricks you can tell us?

J:  Struz would say it's not as exciting as it looks. There's a lot of paperwork involved, and he's pretty disorganized so that's his least favorite part of the job.

Ben: Seems like you might be a semi-nerd, I mean that in the BEST way... I mean you're a hot nerd. But other than hacking into computers, what's your favorite books  (other than Our Mutual Friend)?

B: I am a nerd, it's true. I like the escapism aspect to books which means I'm up to read anything. Any kind of good story that can suck me in is awesome. I've read a lot of classics, but I'm also a big Stephen King fan. The Stand is one of the coolest books I've ever read.

Ben: I have to know... boxers or briefs?

B:  I, ah, wear the boxer briefs. They're good.

Shortie Says: Yeah..... I bet they're good. *gives eyebrow wiggle* ;)

Janelle: So, um, this might be kind of awkward but is Taylor Barclay hot? I mean for myself... I might have a slight thing for him (and your man Ben, but I'm not trying to start anything!).

J:  He's kind of a jerk, but other than that, he's not bad looking or anything. I mean, actually I guess if we're going just looks alone, Barclay is kind of hot--his personality just ruins it a little for me.

Shortie Says: I can see that... But I think there's a heart in there somewhere. I'll find it. Just you wait!

Janelle: How do you deal with being "the mom" of the house? A lot of us struggle with things like these, any coping mechanisms?

J: The big one is reading--some good escapism always makes me feel a little better. And of course Alex helps too. Having a best friend who just wants to get away from his mom and his house means I can always get him to come over and help me get things done or just listen to me vent about what I have going on.

Ben: I love the smell of gasoline. I like your shaggy hair. And your big heart. Would you bring me a burrito from the west coast?! Pretty please!

B:  Yeah, what kind is your favorite?

Shortie Says: EEEK! Steak! Steak burritos! I love them! Aw you the best. I'll be waiting! :)

Ben: Why did you wait so long to take a chance on Janelle? Why not live in the moment if it's something you wanted to much? And, is there anything you wouldn't do for Janelle?

B: I don't know. She's asked me that too. There were plenty of times I saw her and thought I'd go talk to her, but I'd always either chicken out or . . . I don't know. And there have been a lot of times that I thought she'd be better off without me. We're from different worlds and I've ended up causing her a lot of trouble.

J: It was worth it.

B: I probably wouldn't listen to Miley Cyrus for her, at least not without complaining, but everything else.

Janelle: From what Kate did to you, why didn't you just punch her when you had the chance? I think I so would have! HA!

J: It took me a little while to believe it actually happened. We were so close--when we were kids, we did everything together. Growing apart from your best friend is so tough and I grieved for our friendship. I went through denial and depression, and then I got angry. But punching her probably wouldn't have helped...much. I just wanted her to tell me she was sorry and explain why she did what she did.

Shortie Says: ...I still think she deserved a hit, maybe a little one.

Janelle / Ben: Anything else either of you would like to tell us? Secrets?! Jokes?!

J: Ben doesn't like animals.

Shortie Says: O_O

B:  Wow. That makes me look like a monster. It's not that I don't like animals, I just don't think people should own them. They should roam free.

Shortie Says: Okay I totally agree. Aw Ben yous a sweeeetheart! But, I have so many pets and I love them with all my heart. Can't imagine my life with out them. ANY WHO, thank you for stopping by you two! I will be stalking you in the future ;).

- My Review -
Excuse my language for a second... But holy hell, that was effing brilliant.  I cannot contain the emotions pouring out of me because of how amazing Unraveling was. Unraveling is intense, gut-wrenching, consuming and all around exceptional. One of the best debuts I've read yet, hands down.

Cover Reveal: Unchained

So, I have this favorite author... and her name is Jennifer L. Armentrout (If you know my blog, you already know this though). BUT today I'm revealing a cover for her alter-ego-sexy-chick J. Lynn! So without further adieu...

Official blurb: Between the pissed off creatures that want demon-hunter Lily Marks dead and the fallen angel who just...wants her, Lily is about ready to trade in forever for a comfy job in a cubicle farm.

The fact that she and Julian are civil to one another is enough to have her thrown out of the Sanctuary, but she can't shake her not-so-angelic stalker or how he brings her dangerously close to ecstasy.

Her forbidden relationship with Julian provides the perfect fuel for suspicion when a traitor is discovered to be working within the Sanctuary. Lily quickly finds herself hunted by well, everyone.

Her only hope is to discover the real traitor before she loses everything--and she'll need Julian's help. That is, if Julian is really there to help her...and not destroy her.

Yeah, being a Nephilim isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

Isn't it HOT?! I'm sorry... but she looks like one tough bitch to me! I cannot wait to read another adult novel from Jennifer. I fell in love with the first one. And I've been waiting for this one, and I know it'll be worth the wait!

UNCHAINED will be available in mass trade size wherever books are sold on October 16, 2012 and you can pre-order your copies at Amazon, B&N, Book Depository, and BAM

Shortie Says Hint: GO Pre-order it! :)

Want a taste of J. Lynn’s adult work and can’t wait till October? You can purchase her contemporary romance, Tempting the Best Man, which is available on B&N and Amazon. Please note that this is an adult romance, which does contain scenes that could be perceived as naughty, naughty and you should be an adult if reading!

And I TOTALLY suggest Tempting The Best Man if you're into adult books. Or if you just love Jennifer. You can check out my raving review of it HERE

Or you can always check out her Young Adult series, The Covenant (Half-Blood) and Lux Series (Obsidian) under the name Jennifer L. Armentrout.

If you'd like to read any of my reviews of those you can find them here:
- Half-Blood (Covenant Series #1)

- Pure (Covenant Series #2)
- Shadows (Lux Series 0.5)
- Obsidian (Lux Series #1)

And, as I always tell my readers. You should stalk Jennifer. She's funny. She's friendly. She has a cute dog named Loki. And she writes these really amazing books... just sayin.

The Bloggers of the Deep Tour!

The Vicious Deep by: Zoraida Cordova

- The Book -
Synopsis: For Tristan Hart, everything changes with one crashing wave.

He was gone for three days. Sucked out to sea in a tidal wave and spit back ashore at Coney Island with no memory of what happened. Now his dreams are haunted by a terrifying silver mermaid with razor-sharp teeth.

His best friend Layla is convinced something is wrong. But how can he explain he can sense emotion like never before? How can he explain he’s heir to a kingdom he never knew existed? That he’s suddenly a pawn in a battle as ancient as the gods.

Something happened to him in those three days. He was claimed by the sea…and now it wants him back.

Buy A Copy! It releases today! :)

Zoraida Córdova was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She made her way up north and now works in the glittering New York City nightlife. She likes shiny things like Christmas, merdudes, and the skyline at night. She's currently working on book #2.

In the 1st person:

Hello there! This is my shameless first person behest to add my novel to your TO READ list.

It is also where I tell you that I love meeting people from everywhere. Even though, I'm shy in the first 5 minutes, it's all for show. After that, all of my inappropriate sayings/comments come out.

- Tristan's Guest Post -

Hi. My name is Zoraida Cordova and I'm the author of the upcoming urban fantasy The Vicious Deep. It's about the return of the Sea Court to the coast of Coney Island.

So close to the book's release, I've been searching. "Searching?" you ask.

"Yes," I say. "Searching the beaches of Coney Island." I've been on the lookout for a certain merman. If I know one thing about how to catch a merman, it is that you need a good bikini, some fried stuff (he thinks it's calamari), and a little bit of sea mead.

Sorry, he's actually here right now and he's finished ALL the "calamari."

Z: Hi Tristan.
T: What's up?

Z: That's it? That's all I get? I bring you this delicious meal, extra crispy. YOUR FAVORITE? And seaweed beer and all you have to say is What's Up?
T: Uh....You look nice. White goes well with your hair color.

Z: Well, when you put it that way--
T: I don't want to be rude, but, how come you called me?

Z: I'm your creator. I wanted to show you off on my blogs.
T: That's cool.

Z: As you know, I wrote your story
T: (yeah, without my permission)

Z: *louder* I wrote your STORY because mermaids are shiny and pretty--
T: I'm all man, lady! And it's merman. Merbro, if you prefer.

Z: Because you're not on the cover of the novel--
T: *crosses arms stubbornly* I've been working out for no reason.

Z: *pats his head* Don't you worry. This is your chance to shine. To let the world (wide web) know more about you.
T: Fine, but lets go on the beach. Your fingers are getting prune and its grossing me out.

Z: *hides hands* I'm going to give you a series of random things and you have to pick the first one that comes to mind.
T: Okay, but shouldn't you be writing book 2?

Z: Shhh. Summer or Winter?
T: Summer.

Z: Blond or Brunette?
T: Brunette, def.

Z: Cake of Pie?
T: Cherry pie

Z: Buffy or Faith?
T: Who?

Z: Chicken or Bacon?
T: chicken WRAPPED in bacon?

Z: Girlfriend or One time make-out buddy?
T: You wouldn't think so by looking at me, but, girlfriend.

Z: The book or the movie?
T: The book, but don't tell anyone. I don't want to ruin my rep.

Z: An eternity in the seven seas or finishing high school?
T: You can't ask that! No spoilers!

Z: Phone or e-mail?
T: Neither. I like face to face time.

Z: Ocean or pool?
T: My scales look SICK in the pool when it's light out and stuff. But The ocean stings my gills less. So it's hard to choose.

Z: Zombies or Unicorns?
T: I haven't met either-- but I guess, unicorns wouldn't try to eat me. Right....?

Z: Layla or Gwen?
T: Listen, lady! I said NO SPOILERS!

*pushes himself off the rock and swims away from me.*

He's not usually so crabby. But, there you have it. Tristan Hart, a merman out of water.

Shortie Says: Chicken wrapped in bacon.... awww yeah! I think I like you even more Tristan. And that last one... Layla or Gwen... I'd like to know that answer myself. Want to whisper it to me?! Oh pretty please! Either way... I think you should go with Layla, just saying.

- My Review -

When I first saw this book pop up on my goodreads, at first, I was like holy canoli that cover is amazingly beautiful! Then I realized not only was it about merfolk but it had a hot boy narrator! I knew I had to get my hands on this book, and when I did I wasn't disappointed. With it's fresh take on the lore of mermaids and it's fierce thrills The Vicious Deep is a wave of excitement.
