Lola and The Boy Next Door by: Stephanie Perkins (Mini)
Synopsis: Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.
Thoughts: I don't think this book could get any more perfect if I asked for it. It was just so darn stunning, and perfect, and amazing, and god-dammit I WANT A CRICKET BELL. Lola is such a strong character and she goes through some really hard struggles just like every other teen on the planet does. This book is so much more than a love story. It involves identity issues, family issues, and of course romance issues. I related to a lot of this story and I really, truly adored it. Can I just say again that I LOVE CRICKET BELL and I want him, now... to get me the moon & the stars. Blue, blue, blue! Absolutely perfect story, I'm in awe. :)
Cannot wait for her next book!
