Crossed by: Ally Condie (Mini)

Synopsis: In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever

Thoughts:
After reading Matched, I was so excited to read this one. I really enjoyed Matched but unfortunately, Crossed fell short for me. The first half was a struggle to get through. It did get better towards the second half, and there was a twist that I wasn't expecting but really liked. Overall though I was disappointed with it. I do love Ky, and I hope for all the best for him. However, after the sad ending, I am very eager to read the next one though because I'd like to know what will happen to Cassia, Ky, and Xander.

PS. I don't like Indie.

Rating wise... I really couldn't decide between 3 or 4 stars, so I just rounded up. But the story is like a 3.5 for me.

PPS. I really hate, hate, hate giving negative feedback. =/

  1. I was a little borderline with the first. I mostly gave Matched a good review based on her writing. I'm a little curious on where Crossed go, thanks for the honest review, it was really well done and lets the reader knows :)
