Burn Bright by: Marianne de Pierres (Mini)

Synopsis: Into a world of wild secrets and deadly pleasures comes a girl whose innocence may be her greatest strength.

In Ixion music and party are our only beliefs. Darkness is our comfort. We have few rules but they are absolute . . .

Retra doesn’t want to go to Ixion, the island of ever-night, ever-youth and never-sleep. Retra is a Seal – sealed minds, sealed community. She doesn’t crave parties and pleasure, experience and freedom.

But her brother Joel left for Ixion two years ago, and Retra is determined to find him. Braving the intense pain of her obedience strip to escape the only home she’s ever known, Retra stows away on the barge that will take her to her brother.

When she can’t find Joel, Retra finds herself drawn deeper into the intoxicating world of Ixion. Come to me, whispers a voice in her head. Who are the Ripers, the mysterious guardians of Ixion? What are the Night Creatures Retra can see in the shadows? And what happens to those who grow too old for Ixion?

Retra will find that Ixion has its pleasures, but its secrets are deadly. Will friendship, and the creation of an eternal bond with a Riper, be enough to save her from the darkness?

Listen well, baby bats. Burn bright, but do not stray from the paths. Remember, when you live in a place of darkness you also live with creatures of the dark.

Thoughts: A purely captivating read. Unlike anything else I have read. It was absolutely fantastic! A dark world of pleasure and corruption the whole way through, and I loved every bit of it. I'm in love with the name Retra... I think it's the HOTTEST girl name ever! I also absolutely love Lenoir, Markes, and all her friends! It's a completely creative world and I cannot wait for the next one!

PS. This cover is smoking hot! Absolutely gorgeous.

The Mephisto Convenant by: Trinity Faegen (Mini)

Synopsis: Sasha is desperate to find out who murdered her father. When getting the answer means pledging her soul to Eryx, she unlocks a secret that puts her in grave danger—Sasha is Anabo, a daughter of Eve, and Eryx’s biggest threat.

A son of Hell, immortal, and bound to Earth forever, Jax looks for redemption in the Mephisto Covenant—God’s promise he will find peace in the love of an Anabo. After a thousand years, he’s finally found the girl he’s been searching for: Sasha.

With the threat of Eryx looming, Jax has to keep Sasha safe and win her over. But can he? Will Sasha love him and give up her mortal life?

I have to admit, in the beginning I was skeptical about this one. I wasn't sure I was really going to get into it... but boy was I wrong. I enjoyed this one SO much. It just kept getting better, and better, and BAM better! Not to mention, Jax is one sexy soul, oh hell yes he is! :) There are struggles, funny lines, and SUPER sexy times. Cannot wait for the next one!

Lola and The Boy Next Door by: Stephanie Perkins (Mini)

Synopsis: Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

I don't think this book could get any more perfect if I asked for it. It was just so darn stunning, and perfect, and amazing, and god-dammit I WANT A CRICKET BELL. Lola is such a strong character and she goes through some really hard struggles just like every other teen on the planet does. This book is so much more than a love story. It involves identity issues, family issues, and of course romance issues. I related to a lot of this story and I really, truly adored it. Can I just say again that I LOVE CRICKET BELL and I want him, now... to get me the moon & the stars. Blue, blue, blue! Absolutely perfect story, I'm in awe. :)

Cannot wait for her next book!

PS. If you'd like a teaser of this book, you can find it HERE. :)

Awake At Dawn by: C.C. Hunter (Mini)

Synopsis: Now that she’s settled in at Shadow Falls Camp, Kylie Galen’s determined to discover the extent of her supernatural abilities. But with a ghost insisting someone Kylie loves is about die, a rogue vampire on a murdering rampage, and her sixth sense telling her someone is watching her, Kylie’s quest for answers is quickly put on hold.
To make matters worse, just when she’s about to give her heart to Derek, a half-fairy, he starts pulling away. When Lucas, a werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past, returns, Kylie’s feels more conflicted than ever. Her weekend with her mom should have been the just the break Kylie needs, but it turns out to be her breaking point. Someone from the dark side of the supernatural world has plans for Kylie—and it'll take all her resources to get back to Shadow Falls alive...
Thoughts: Fantastic sequel! I loved every part it. I loved discovering what Kylie was discovering, feeling what Kylie felt, and watching her grow. I really, really am curious to what kind of supernatural she is, even though I think I have a really good idea. I also have to admit, boy wise, I was Team Lucas after Born At Midnight. But, now, after Awake At Dawn, I am kind of split. Derek is just the all around great guy, with sexy green eyes and then there's also Lucas who you can't help but loving. ARRRGGG I'm not sure who I want her with. But I do know, I cannot wait for the next one... I'm dying to know what happens next!

PS. I love this cover. I think it's beautiful.

Teaser Tuesday

This weeks comes from the 'best one yet' IF I DIE (Soul Screamers #5). I absolutely loved this book, it truly was the best one so far in the series... at least for me! Can't wait to buy this one when it comes out in October and you will def want to pick it up as well!! So I hope you enjoy your teaser!

I flattened myself against the wall when the nurse headed down the hall again, but Tod let her walk right through him. "What does that feel like?" I asked, whispering out of instinct. Talking when no one else could hear me felt weird.
He shrugged, looking right into my eyes. "Right now, this is all I feel." He held our intertwined hands up for me to see and I wanted to look away, but I couldn't break the hold his gaze had on me, like he could see more than
anyone else saw. Things I couldn't even see myself.

Hope you loved it! :)

Delirium Giveaway WINNER

Wow, thank you SO much to everyone who checked out me & Brooke's blog and entered the contest!

And I special thanks to everyone who commented and checked out our post on Alex!

After I added up all the extra entries there were a total of 240 entries!!!! O_O That is my largest by far I believe. That is AWESOME. Thank you ALL so much! :)

Plus, remember this giveaway was all because of a post about ALEX. So if you could all be AWESOME and head over to and vote for ALEX in any category he is in, I will LOVE you for life :D

Okay, okay I'll stop blabbing now....

The Winner Is...
197. Khyla

Congrats Khyla!! LOVE your name by the way!! I have e-mailed you so you can chose which Delirium you'd like! Congrats again and I hope you enjoy it!!

Also, this was Khyla's response to "Do you believe in love?" : 'Yes I believe in love. People keep on telling me that there are different types of loves in the world and i believe there is. First love can make you blind to people around you or it can truly make you into a person you were meant to be. I am a hopeless romantic and I do believe in love.'

What an amazing response right?! Well since I LOVED reading these and I decided I'm going to send swag to my favorite response(s). Now, if Khyla didn't win she would have DEF been in the running for my favorite response.

Before I pick a winning person(s) to send swag to... here are some of my favorite responses:

1) Yes, because I am madly in love with you. FACT.

2) Yes! I believe in fairytale love, true love, first love and pure love. I believe in platonic love, I believe in familial love. I believe in love that makes the heart pump 200 beats a second.. I believe in love that grows slowly and then bursts out of you.

3) Yes... Am I suppose to elaborate on this??? (LOL - this response made me laugh)

4) Absolutely. I'm 16 and I've never even held hands with a guy, but deep down I am a hopeless romantic. Like any other girl, I dream of Prince Charming/Mr. Right. I don't know if I'll ever find him though, because the guys in books are so hard to live up to. ;) (YES they are. If you compare boys to fictional characters.... they will never measure up lol)

5) Of course. Who doesn't believe in love? (Well, except Lord Voldemort, maybe. (LOL, he is in love with power.)

6) Do I believe in forever eternal soul mates love? No. People change, love changes, things change, and I believe that there are thousands of people in the world we're compatible with, not just one love that we're destined to be with. But yes, other than that, I believe in love, just that love is an ever-changing aspect.

Okay so out of those six my favorites who I will send swag to are.....

#2) - ZoeRainDasher - I love your description of love. How you said it just "bursts out of you" because it does and feeling that is something you can only experience in love.

#6) - Megan - I love your take on it. And I totally agree. People do change and I've experienced it myself. Love may make you feel amazing sometimes, but it is a HARD thing to deal with sometimes. So I love your answer as well.

Congrats to the three of you who won prizes! I wish I had lots of money so I could send you ALL prizes but sadly I don't. Thank you so much to everyone who entered and checked out my blog. I love you all! :)

Music Monday ♫

1) Tori Amos - Precious Things

This. Song. Is. Just. Amazing.

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

2) A Skylit Drive - Black and Blue

I love them. And this acoustic song is just amazing.

3) The Ready Set - Young Forever

Just a fun song, and they played it amazingly at Warped Tour.

Favorites? Liked, didn't like? :)

Crossed by: Ally Condie (Mini)

Synopsis: In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever

After reading Matched, I was so excited to read this one. I really enjoyed Matched but unfortunately, Crossed fell short for me. The first half was a struggle to get through. It did get better towards the second half, and there was a twist that I wasn't expecting but really liked. Overall though I was disappointed with it. I do love Ky, and I hope for all the best for him. However, after the sad ending, I am very eager to read the next one though because I'd like to know what will happen to Cassia, Ky, and Xander.

PS. I don't like Indie.

Rating wise... I really couldn't decide between 3 or 4 stars, so I just rounded up. But the story is like a 3.5 for me.

PPS. I really hate, hate, hate giving negative feedback. =/

IF I DIE by: Rachel Vincent (Mini Review)

Synopsis: No one wants to be this teacher’s pet . . .

Everyone else is talking about Eastlake High’s gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck, but Kaylee Cavanaugh has bigger things on her mind. Kaylee’s a banshee—her scream is a portent of death.

But the next scream might hit too close to home. Kaylee’s borrowed lifeline has almost run out.

Yeah—it’s a shock to her, too. So to distract herself from her own problems, Kaylee is determined to defend her school against the latest supernatural threat. That hot new teacher is really an incubus, who feeds from the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend’s delinquent ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren’t quite human either.

But Kaylee’s running out of time, and those who love her will do anything to save her life.

Soul Screamers: The last thing you hear before you die.

Thoughts: In the acknowledgments, Rachel states that she always says "this is her best one yet!" but with this one... She is 826% correct! IF I DIE was outstanding, it truly was the best one yet. If I Die had everything you could have ever asked for: romance, anger, death, heartbreak, struggles, laughs, triumphs, fights, and super smexy times! I could have not asked for a better fifth book. I am anxiously waiting for BEFORE I WAKE because I absolutely need more an cannot wait to see what happens next. A billion stars out of 5. TOD FOREVER :D

Teaser Tuesday

This week comes from the lovely "Lola and The Boy Next Door" by Stephanie Perkins. I absolutely LOVED and ADORED this book. It's just as good or better than Anna and The French Kiss!! And I'm basically in love with Cricket Bell :). So enjoy...

"I know. And I couldn't wait any longer, I have to tell you - "
The panic rises, and I grip the French band tighter. "Cricket, please -"
But his words pour forth in a torrent. "I can't stop thinking about you, and I'm not the guy I used to be, I've changed -"
"Cricket -" I look back up, feeling faint.
His blue eyes are bright. Sincere. Desperate. "Go out with me tonight. Tomorrow night, every ni -" The words cut off in his throat as he sees something behind me.
Cigarettes and spearmint. I want to die.
"This is Max. My boyfriend. Max, this is Cricket Bell."

Hope you enjoyed! :)

Putting one fictional hottie against another & having the fans duke it out to decided who's the best. Thanks to my bestie Jena over at Shortie Says for hooking me up w/these awesome icons (ABOVE) !! She loves Jules too! - Feel free to use any of the three and ROCK 'em ALL THE TIME! :)

Incase you don't know who Jules is, he's from Amy Plum's novel Die for Me, and he's basically the most amazing secondary character ever to exist! I personally have never "met" the boy Jules is going up against but i hear Shane from the Morganville Vampire Series puts up a good fight, so the competition is sure to be fierce!

Stop by The YA Sisterhood tomorrow and VOTE!! Also see past winners and losers (those boys still deserve our lovin'!) and check out the upcoming battle rounds! You can find all the information HERE!

Two other fictional studs are also going head to head tomorrow, Tucker from Unearthly and good ole Edward Cullen. Vote in their match too!!! Cheer for your boys!! and get your clicky fingers ready!!! (Cough vote for Tucker Cough)
