Betrayal by: Lee Nichols

Synopsis: Emma Vaile is the most powerful ghostkeeper in centuries. Which is great when she's battling the wraith-master Neos, but terrible when she's flirting with fellow ghostkeeper (and soul mate) Bennett. When ghostkeepers fall in love, the weaker one loses all power, and that's not something Bennett can handle. Heartbroken and alone, Emma tries to lose herself in school with fellow ghostkeeper, Natalie. When a new team of ghostkeepers arrive—one a snarky teen
boy, the other a British scholar—Emma finds solace in training for the battle against Neos. But as the team grows stronger, they are threatened by an unknown force. One they thought was good.
As chilling and page-turning as Deception, this sequel will grab readers and hold them to the last page. No one is safe from suspicion as Emma closes in on the traitor.

Thoughts: I absolutely adore the Haunting Emma series and BETRAYAL in no way let me down. I loved it just as much as Deception!

BETRAYAL starts off right where we left off in Deception. Emma is the most powerful ghostkeeper around, so of course the evil Neos is still out to destroy her and she can't be the person she loves, because oh yeah, all his powers will disappear. So when Bennett decides to spend time away from Emma she's left at home with her old friends and a new team (two boys might I mention) to find and fight Neos. While time ticks away, Emma has to deal with a school full of hate and harsh training sessions from her new guardian Simon. Neos's power is growing and Emma is fighting to figure out how to defeat him, be with Bennett, and find her family. With a Betrayal you'll never see coming... this story will keep you locked to the pages.

I absolutely loved the second book in the Haunting Emma series. I adore COBY and BENNETT. I love them both. And Emma, oh Emma! She is a fierce ghostkeeper and she is even more bad ass in BETRAYAL. Everyone you know and love is still in this book, as long with a few newbies. Two of them being Simon and Lukas; and I loved both of them! Lukas is hot! Snarky, witty, and awesome. Simon, I really liked his character as well, and can't wait to see how he plays out in SURRENDER. Another thing... I have a feeling Coby may somehow work his way back into the game in SURRENDER (If you know what I mean... I could be so wrong though). That being said, I do love Bennett, I really hope he and Emma work out and he's able to cope with what he's going through.

At the end of this book this was seriously my reactions - "I was like noooo, then yesss! Then nooooo again. Then WTF. Then Happy. Then the preview for the next book... Wow" Yeah, to say the least, the ending is a clincher.

I loved this book! And I know you all will too, so everyone should go read it!! And if you haven't read DECEPTION, you should go read that first! :) Your series is LOVELY Lee Nichols :) I cannot wait for SURRENDER!
