New Covers!

First off I have to start with SLICE OF CHERRY.

This cover is just gorgeous! Tea cups and blood?! Like come on! Brilliant. If you want to see the whole cover (front & back) + an excerpt of chapter 1 head on over to www.diareeves.com and check it out! It's amazing!

Next, is FOREVER.

I love the red! I think it fits so well. I love how on the Shiver we see Sam as a Wolf, then on the Linger cover it's both Wolf and Grace walking away, and now on Forever it's Grace wolf and human Sam. Beautifully done if you ask me!

I can not wait to read both books! :)

Music Monday ♫

Only one song this week. It's amazing and so deep. I hope you enjoy.

Brave Saint Saturn - Starling

"Wear your hearts out on your sleeves for starlings... starlings."

"Every breath has sacred weight,
every life has some design.
Can we kill and also save,
speak of life, while digging graves?"

Music Thursday (Instead of Monday!) ♫

Why? Well just because I feel like it. And I missed Monday. =/ My life has been so crazy busy. With work, school, this children's lit class. It's insane! BTW in my childrens lit class I just read "When You Reach Me" by: Rebecca Stead, yes it's for a younger age but I really enjoyed it! It's defiantly worth taking a look at. Okay onto music...

Waking life by Schuyler Fisk
- This song is just beautiful and I love the lyrics.

There’s an anchor that’s pulling on my heart,
And it’s deep in the water but it can’t take me down.
Tracin’ faces with fingers and we’re just the same as we were,
Just our eyes never found what I see now,
That my feet are on the ground.

Cause I'm not lost, just looking for footprints.
I’m taking it, one step at a time and I’m getting by.

Talk by Coldplay
- This is an amazing song. I heard it today and I just couldn't resist posting it.

You can take a picture of something you see,
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the sun,
Or write a song nobody has sung or do,
Something that's never been done.

Are you lost or incomplete?
Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece?
Tell me how do you feel?
Well I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak,
And they're talking it to me.

Enjoy! :)

Low Red Moon by: Ivy Devlin

Synopsis: Avery Hood is reeling from the loss of her parents--and the fact that she can't remember what happened to them even though she was there.

She's struggling to adjust to life without them, and to living with her grandmother, when she meets Ben, who isn't like any guy she's ever met before.

It turns out there's a reason why, and Ben's secret may hold the key to Avery finding out what happened to her parents...

But what if that secret changes everything she knows about--and feels for--Ben?

Thoughts: This book is a very quick read. I whipped through it fast. That being said, I probably whipped through it because I really enjoyed it. On goodreads this story is getting mixed reviews... people either seem to love it or hate it and well, I'm on the love it side.

We start with Avery (beautiful name by the way!) who's parents are murdered. The only thing she can remember is being covered in blood, them broken, and seeing silver. Avery is sent to live with Renee, her grandmother and being as strong as Avery is, she continues her daily routine. When she meets the new boy Ben she starts to realize her feelings for him are deeper than she ever imagined could be. But can Ben help her figure out what happened to her parents, or worse does he know what happened?

I really enjoyed Low Red Moon. Avery, I thought was an extremely strong character. What she endured and still continued on to help avenge her parent's murders... was such a strong trait. Then there's Ben. Handsome, "I'll always protect you", Ben. Part of me wishes Avery & Ben we're friends for a bit first, then the other part me says you know what 'if you know, you know', and believe me these two know! Their love is so compelling and so rich. There weren't too many characters in this book that played a huge role. Though, I did like Louis (Ben's uncle). I'm very curious to see where Ivy Devlin will take us with Ben, Avery, Louis, and Renee in the *I hope it comes out* sequel.

The paranormal in this book is obviously Warewolves, and you know what it has it's own spin on it and I really liked it. You don't dig too much into it, but if a sequel is made... I would love to dive in deeper to it. Another thing about "Low Red Moon" for me is the title... I honestly am not sure why it's the title. I know 'low red moon' is mentioned in one of the chapters, and the color RED defiantly fits, but i'm not sure where low moon came from. It should have been something more like Evil Silver Flash! (Hahaha or something). I do have to say I really enjoyed this and hope that the unanswered questions will show up in a sequel.

Low Red Moon is a story of love, mystery, death, and relationships. It's a wonderful story that I enjoyed and I would love to read a sequel to it! :)

Music Monday ♫

I'm kind of upset there was no orange juice or juice in my fridge this morning! So i'm going to post music monday now to make me feel a little bitter! haha :) Only two songs this week, posted both as videos.

Emmy Rossum - Slow Me Down

- I absolutely love this song.

"Sometimes I fear that I might dissapear
In the blur of fast forward I faulter again."

M-83 - We Own The Sky
- This song is another different, but good song. And I'm not sure why.. but it reminds me of Clockwork Angel.

"Soft, soft or cruel
Can't we change our minds?
We kill what we build
Because we own the sky."

Hope you enjoy :)

Dark Flame by: Alyson Noel

Synopsis: At the start of this mesmerizing new installment of the Immortals series, Ever is helping her friend Haven transition into life as an immortal. But with Haven drunk on her new powers and carelessly putting them all at risk, their friendship becomes more and more strained. At the same time, Ever delves deeper into magick in order to get control over her enemy Roman and free Damen from his power. But when the spell she casts on Roman backfires, she’s bound to her deadliest enemy. Frantic to reverse the spell the moment the moon enters a new phase, she finds her efforts are fruitless—there’s a strange, foreign pulse coursing through her, one that propels her toward Roman. Desperate to break free of this terrible curse before Damen or the twins can discover what she’s done, she turns to Jude and delves deeper and deeper into dark magick, ultimately risking everything she knows and loves—including Damen.

Thoughts: Well, I must say I was not expecting that ending. That's always a good thing right; Having a twist you didn't really expect. That being said I was a little ehhh with the beginning. It just seems as if the characters constantly deal with the same issues. I'm not saying I didn't like the book, because I did. It was a good book, just not my favorite in the series.

I never really liked Haven, and I did find her annoying through out the book. When you get about half way through it does seem to pick up a bit, at least for me. I found myself wanting to keep reading to find out what was going on within Ever. Damen, is his sweet, sweet self of course, sometimes you want to hit Ever for being so cruel towards him. He is the best boyfriend in the entire world! Now, Jude... I found myself liking him a bit more in this installment, such a down to earth kind of guy. Also, Roman we know he's the enemy, the person you should hate, but by the end of the book I was feeling sympathetic towards him, semi-understanding him.

Though the ending was good, and sets up perfectly for the next book in the series, I didn't feel a huge "suspense" feeling for this book. You know how some books you're reading and it builds and builds and then you're like 'omg what's going to happen?!' ... well I didn't feel that way about Dark Flame, though I did enjoy it. It's a dark book, with love, magic, torment, and understanding. I'm curious to see where she takes it in book #6: Night Star.

Trailer Thursday

I absolutely loved Courtney Summer's "Some Girls Are" and "Cracked Up To Be", so today's trailer is for her next upcoming book called "Fall For Anything".

Synopsis: When Eddie Reeves’s father commits suicide her life is consumed by the nagging question of why? Why when he was a legendary photographer and a brilliant teacher? Why when he had a daughter who loved him more than anyone else in the world? When she meets Culler Evans, a former student of her father’s and a photographer himself, an instant and dangerous attraction begins. He seems to know more about her father than she does and could possibly hold the key to the mystery surrounding his death. But Eddie’s vulnerability has weakened her and Culler Evans is getting too close. Her need for the truth keeps her hanging on… but some questions should be left unanswered.

Doesn't it sound fabulous? Can't wait! :)

Music Monday ♫

Here's my list for the week :) Along with a few explanations! Enjoy :)

Incubus - Dig
- Reminds me of Clockwork Angel. Jem & Will. (Sickness & Ego)

We all have something that digs at us
At least we dig each other
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday.

If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone.

We all have someone that digs at us
At least we dig each other
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine

The Matches - Chain Me Free
- Clockwork Angel reminder

Chain me free or let it fall
we can be all, we can be all
I said, what's in your head?
Lose the key or please don't call
We can be all, we can be all
I said, she kissed me dead.

Fink - This Is The Thing
- Cassie Clare has this on her Clockwork Angel playlist and it does fit perfectly. Plus, it's a great song. Makes me think of my life too.

And the things that keep us apart,
Keep me alive.
And the things that keep me alive,
Keep me alone.

Hinder - Lips of An Angel
- I adore this song. It also again, reminds me of Clockwork Angel.

It's really good to hear your voice,
Sayin' my name
It sounds so sweet
Comin' from the lips of an angel
Hearin' those words
It makes me weak.

Wiz Khalifa - This Plane & Buck 65 - Paper Airplane
- Stuck in my head this week! I absolutely love Paper Airplane <33 The words written on my hand are hard to say.
A game of solitaire and no cards to play.
Paper airplanes so far away.

3OH!3 - Still Around
- This is one of 3OH!3's slower songs and I love it. It goes well with Clockwork Angel too.

And I know what you're thinking
That won't stop this drinking
It's the least I can do
'Cause this life is anything but certain
When they close the final curtain
You'll get a glimpse of the truth

Cause you're still around.
Well she's still around.

Go ahead and burn it down
I'm drunk and so is everyone else
In this devil town.

O.A.R. - Love and Memories
- One of my favorite songs, also perfect for Clockwork Angel.

You buried me, didn't you?

Didn't you love me faster than the devil,
Run me straight into the ground.
Drowning deep inside your water,
Drowning deep inside your sound.

Saosin - Is This Real?
- Great song, again for CA.

I don't want to buy into the lie
Stare up at the sky but is it real?
Show me somethin' real.
I don't want to buy into your lies
Stare up at the sky and say 'I surrender myself for this,
I'll take the blame',
I surrender myself for this, I'll take the blame.

Just tell me is this real,
The choices that we make,
The smiles that we fake, for my own sake
I know it hurts but is this... real?

MGMT - Electric Feel
- One of my songs for the week! Love this song :)

"Say ooh girl, shock me like an electric eel
Baby girl, turn me on with your electric feel."

Underoath - Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape
- Lovely song, also for CA

"Here's my kiss to betray (kiss to betray),
Desperate to brush the lips of grace,
Do you feel hollow when you think of how I lied?"

Check out Paper Airplane HERE. (It's not too great of a version.. itunes is the best).
Also check out 3OH!3's - Still Around HERE. The rest are on the playlist below! Enjoy :)

Clockwork Angel by: Cassandra Clare

Synopsis: Magic is dangerous—but love is more dangerous still.
When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.
Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.
Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by—and torn between—two best friends: Jem, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa.
As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

Thoughts: Cassie Clare, you are amazing. I'm in awe. I finished Clockwork Angel last night and I'm still thinking about it. I figured I'd sleep on it before I wrote this, so that my head would clear somewhat... but it has not. This book is mysterious, sexy, dark, and beautifully written.

We start with Tessa, who recieves a letter from her brother Nate asking her to join him in London. So of course she goes... but soon finds herself in a world she could only imagine in dreams. She is captured by the Dark Sisters and is forced to use her newly discovered power of being a Shape Changer. When Tessa finally escapes she is thrown into the world of shadowhunters and still is in search of her brother. No one quite knows exactly what Tessa is, but while the mysterious Magister is after her, Tessa finds herself in a new world of love, hurt, power, and darkness.

The characters in this book all play a part at making you the love the story even more. We'll start with Tessa. Tessa is an extremely strong protagonist. She is so fierce, and I love the way she sticks up for herself. There are parts in the book where while reading it I was literally talking to the pages saying 'YOU GO GIRL!'. She being a one-of-a-kind downworlder, I am so curious so see where the next books take us.

Next, Jem. Jem is such a sweetheart, seems to be the do-no-wrong type of character. You can't help but have a soft spot for Jem; He is just willing to help everyone.

Jessamine... pretty name by the way! Though Jessamine will come off as a spoiled bratt, I think she is still a good person and has a right to feel the way she feels. I really liked her.

Charlotte and Henry... well, Henry is just hilarious. He's a good person and seems to do the funniest things sometimes. He seems to be very invested in his work, but I believe we will see later on that there is good reason for that. Charlotte, I was surprised at how young she is, does a fantastic job at running the institute! She's a strong 'motherly' figure and does what she can for everyone. I really adored her, she has a kind heart.

The not-as-popular characters - Thomas, Sophie, Nate, Mr. Mortmain, de Quincey, Camille, and Gabriel. Now, I must say... all the younger boys in this book are hot. I pretty much love them all. Most people haven't said much good about Nate or Gabriel, but I really like them both for some reason. I'm hoping Cassie will surprise me with these two in the future books. Sophie and Thomas.. two of the servants in the institute. I adored Thomas! Such a good character! And Sophie, well I am very curious about Sophie! I think Sophie may have a bigger part in this series than we are let on to believe. Mr. Mortmain and de Quincey, well basically I don't like them. Nope, not at all. Though I am also very curious about Mr. Mortmain. Finally, Camille. I must admit in TMI, I did not like her. I know we don't meet her, but whenever she was spoken of she just seemed extremely shady to me. In CA, I loved her! Amazing characters!

Magnus... I think I liked Magnus even more in Clockwork Angel than I did in TMI. Magnus played such a great role in Clockwork Angel and I can not wait to see more of him in Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess.

Finally, but defiantly NOT least... WILL. Oh yes, I am Team Will. <3 Will is everything you can imagine and more. More that we don't know and hope to find out. My favorite discription of Will is one that is said by Magnus:: "Look at him. The face of a bad angel and eyes like the night sky in hell." He is gorgeous... dark hair, unique blue eyes, strong, sexy, and not to mention tormented by a mystery we have yet to discover! On twitter I asked Cassie if there was a reason there is much focus on Will's eyes and her answer was Yes. I can not wait to find out what that reason is! I love eyes, they are one of my favorite characteristics of people. Anywho, Will is amazing and I love him!

I just loved every character in this book, every scene, and every detail. The story is so well written, it has so many twists, so many scenes where I wanted more, and so many things left for us to discover. Not to mention, there are some HOT scenes in Clockwork Angel. ;) I can not wait for the next book in the series! There is so much I still want to know, and so much I want to happen! I just can't say enough how much I loved Clockwork Angel! Every book I read by Cassandra Clare just keeps getting better and better! I'm so excited for the next adventures of Tessa, Will, Jem, and the whole Clockwork crew. :) 10 out of 5 stars !

Finally, one of my favorite non-spoilery quotes:

"If no one in the entire world cared about you, did you really exist at all?"

FYI - If you read the book and want to talk spoilers head on over to the Google Group and let's talk! :) (My name is Jenababy13)
