My thoughts on: Raised By Wolves

I have to give it to Jennifer Lynn Barnes for this book being completely unique. I haven't read much like the story line in this book. Yes the typical folklore is there, but Bryn, being a human raised by wolves was completely unique.

Bryn, is a human who is literally raised by wolves after her parents were killed by a rabid wolf. She lives her life attached to their Pack and their bonds. After she discovers a new wolf, Chase, things start to unravel and the adventure begins.

This story defiantly kept me interested with all the different types of characters. Bryn was rediculously strong and never gave up and I really admired that about her. I also really liked Callum and her best friend Devon. I really, really wanted to fall in love with Chase but he just seemed a little under-developed for me. He almost didn't speak enough. Though, dark hair and light blue eyes... hot! And he defiantly pulled at my heart strings for some parts, I felt so bad for him.

I did, however, enjoy the plot. I thought it was a great story line. It showed how strong you can really be, and to believe in that strength. It was a bit predictable. When I say that, I mean I wasn't too surprised at all about what happened. But, that being said I still enjoyed it. If something is predictable it never means that I don't enjoy it, because I liked this book and I did enjoy it. I did though, wish there was a little more romance in this book.. there seemed not to be enough for me. Which I actually had a question about...

****SEMI-SPOILERY (I'm going to quote a line from the book)****
At one part when Chase and Bryn are talking about what he used to love, he says "Before, I loved cars, Yeats, having a bedroom that locked from the inside, and you." Now, Bryn wonders how could he possible love her before he knew her, but it is never really answered. My guess is that he saw her in the Rabid's head before he met her. I'm not sure though, and I hope to see it answered in the second book.
****SEMI-SPOILERY OVER****

I enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next, "Trial By Fire". The ending of Raised By Wolves is set up perfectly for a sequel and I really liked how it ended. If you are a werewolf kind-of-girl, then I defiantly suggest picking up this book!

My thoughts on The Iron Daughter

Where do I even start? I absolutely LOVED this book. It, by all means, held up to the standard of the first. From the terrifying, freezing first pages to the heartbreaking, wonderful last pages it held my attention the entire time.

I loved seeing the Winter Court and all the characters that came along with it. Sage and Rowen were awesome to read about, and to see Ash and the facade he must show in his court was something else. More characters I really liked and (they surprised me because of Ash's motives) were Tiaothin and Spider!

Meghan was something else... so determined, so heartbroken, so strong. I felt for her throughout the whole book, through all her tears and surprises. We also got to see her with both her boys and I just love both of them. Puck is so sweet and funny, his sense of humor just gets me. Yet Ash, so tormented and lovely, I can't help but love him.

Ash has got to be one of my favorite characters (obviously I'm team ASH all the way). I love his torment, his jealousy, his hurt, his strength, his happiness, the way he looks at Meghan with so many different emotions. All the things he goes through and still keeps on going. I have to say one of my favorite chapters from the book has to be chapter 21. I just loved that chapter!

And one character who I never expected that I loved was Iron Horse. He played such a great role in this book! He was so much more fun to follow than I thought he would be. So strong and protective with a great heart.

Oh and one last comment, the pattern in this book that Meghan must figure out was so creative! I love stuff like that! And I could not figure it out, and when she finally did... I was like oh my gosh cool!

The ending was just fantasical (if that's even a word)! I felt so bad for a certain someone, but I was so so so happy with that ending! I just LOVE this series and I can not wait for THE IRON QUEEN. I can not wait to see what happens with Meghan, Ash, Puck, Grim, and all the Nevernever. :)

Amazing second book in the series & here are some of my favorite quotes:

"Ash looked at me. I saw pain in his eyes, and a little regret, but they shone with such emotion I felt breathless. 'I already have.'" (pg354)

"You ran a light anyway, dickhead!" (pg224)

"'If you are going to do that, would you mind not jostling the bed so much?' came a sarcastic voice near the head board. 'Perhaps you could roll around on the floor.'" (pg214)

"You're here, and the only dance I want is this one." (pg307)

Along with many, many others! :)

My thoughts on LINGER

My thoughts on LINGER by Maggie Stiefvater.

I'm not going to lie, I ran out and bought Linger the day it was release on July 13th. I had bought two books in the same day and read the other first, but I read through Linger so fast, it was a great book.

I fell in love with Sam and Grace in Shiver, and Linger did not disappiont me at all. There was an element to Linger that I seemed to enjoy a little more though. Switching back and forth between Cole, Isabel, Grace, and Sam showed that each character had their own problems and their own demons to fight, and I absolutely LOVED this. Each of them have to learn to deal and heal what their past has done to them: Cole with his music, Grace with her wolves and parents, Isabel with Jack and her parents, and Sam with his horrifying past and trying to figure out what his future has to hold.

I really enjoyed all the romance and fighting through out the book, it was real. Everything is not perfect in real life. You fight, you cry, you get angry, and you do stupid things. Reguardless of those, you have to learn to deal. But, when you have something good you have to fight to hold onto it and don't let anything get in the way.

I've read some reviews where people say this book was predictable. So what if it is? Think about all the chick flicks you go out to watch. Lets see.. hmmm... The Noteboook. Everyone knows she's sick and she's going to die in the end, yet you still love to watch her fall in love and cry at the end, but you still LOVE it anyway. (You go N.SPARKS for the awesome book)!

I loved Linger and I can not wait to read FOREVER. :)

Some of my favorite quotes from LINGER:

"Don't give me that look. I'm not trying to find out who you are. I don't care who you are. I just want to know why it is you are the way you are." (pg259)

"Every third step I ran, my breath exploded out of me all in a rush. One step to suck in another cold lungful. One step to let it escape. One step of not breathing." (pg237) <33

"'Aren't you afraid?' Isabel asked, suddenly, and I opened my eyes. I hadn't realized I'd shut them. Her gaze was intense.
'Of what?'
'Of losing yourself?'
I told her the truth: 'That's what I'm hoping for.'" (pg121)

"Siren" by: Tricia Rayburn

So I just finished "Siren" By Tricia Rayburn. I always blog about what I thought after I read a book. I don't refer to them as reviews because I don't want all the "hype" and I don't want to write a wrong review (if that's possible? lol).

I thought this book was so good! I really really enjoyed it. It was so nice to see Vanessa grow. She started off so scared and grew to be so brave by the end. I loved Simon and Caleb, just love love loved them! And Simon... it was so nice to see a guy who is a complete sweetheart! Usually, it's the bad sarcastic boy I fall for, but Simon was such a sweetheart I just wanted to give him a hug!

I loved the concept of her "Sirens" too. I have only read about one Siren which was Ridley from "Beatiful Creatures" but she was a different type of siren than in this book. This book had a really cool concept I haven't read yet and I look forward to finding out more about them.

This book also had a "sex" scene. Which I love when books have them! Books like: Shiver, The Wake Trilogy, and Bleeding Violet. They all, including Siren, did the scenes just right and I think it adds extra hotness to the book! ;) Extra realness to the relationship developing.

On twitter, Tricia Rayburn said book2 will come out next summer and I am so excited to see what happens! I have a few questions that I need to be answered! Like... Who is Charlotte Bleu? Why doesn't her mother remember Raina? Why did Zara help Vanessa at the end? And most of all I want Simon and Vanessa to end up happily ever after of course :).

I can't wait to see how this series plays out! Great book :)

One of my fav quotes from the book:
"It was as if Simon had become my nightlight; even when he wasn't with me, he was illuminating the world so that I no longer feared it." (pg246)

New Puppy - Luna :)

So we got a new puppy today! Her name is Luna. She's adorable. Our three cats are trying their best to get along with her haha, but they're still scared. You know, the hisses and spits.. typical.

I finished reading "Siren", I'll post my thoughts tomorrow sometime when I get time!

Goodnight :)
